We have tons of people doing fantastic work on Gitcoin and helping push open source forward. We felt it is only right to give some of our top performers some time in the limelight for their hard work and dedication!

Kenneth’s Journey on Gitcoin

Gitcoin is the easiest way to monetize or incentivize work in Open Source Software.gitcoin.co

Kenneth is a software developer from North Carolina, USA. Recently, Kenneth was going through the process of learning Solidity and happened to stumble upon Gitcoin through his research.

Kenneth: I was learning solidity development and wanted to see examples of other products that use smart contracts. I stumbled across State of the DAppsand Gitcoin was one of the featured products. I was super interested from the get-go as I’ve been a professional developer for 6+ years.

After joining Gitcoin, Kenneth wasted no time getting to work. One of his first bounties was actually a project to help out the Gitcoin UX. The task was to help Gitcoin users see all bounties from other bounty platforms so that anyone can contribute to work regardless of whether it was within Gitcoin.

In addition to working with Gitcoin, Kenneth has also contributed to projects such as Market Protocol, MyCrypto, and CodeFund.

The folks at MarketProtocol needed some help with their trading UI design. As a testament to his hard work and abilities, Kenneth was able to turn this bounty around in just 3 days!

After working on a multitude of different bounties, we asked Kenneth which experience has been his favorite thus far.

Kenneth: My favorite has been the one I’m currently working on: Gitcoin Grants. I have been the backender, frontender, and designer of the feature. It’s been a ton of fun combining my skills to make something that the Gitcoin team likes.

See Github Thread for Gitcoin Grants!

At Gitcoin, we’re hyper-focused on making sure that our community is of the highest quality and that both developers and open source projects are getting what they desire out of the platform. We like to tap our community members every once in a while to see what kind of stuff really keeps them motivated on Gitcoin.

Kenneth: I love the community. It’s an international team of smart and progressive folks working together to create some awesome products that I believe is going to be the future of technology

Big thanks to Kenneth for taking the time out for this interview. Check him out on Github!
